php artisan ui:add scan-loader writes only the files below. The CLI validates each file hash before writing and asks before it replaces a local change, unless you pass --force.

# Brok UI: Scan Loader (`scan-loader`)

An analyzing-image loader — a muted placeholder box with corner brackets and a bright beam sweeping top↔bottom, reading as "analyzing".

Brok UI is a Laravel Blade component registry. Installed components are plain Blade files the app owns.

## Install

```bash
php artisan ui:add scan-loader
```

## Usage

```blade
<div class="flex flex-wrap items-end gap-8">
    <div class="flex flex-col items-center gap-2">
        <x-ui.scan-loader size="sm" />
        <span class="text-xs text-muted-foreground">sm</span>
    </div>
    <div class="flex flex-col items-center gap-2">
        <x-ui.scan-loader size="md" />
        <span class="text-xs text-muted-foreground">md</span>
    </div>
    <div class="flex flex-col items-center gap-2">
        <x-ui.scan-loader size="lg" />
        <span class="text-xs text-muted-foreground">lg</span>
    </div>
</div>
```

## Props

- `label` (string, default `Analyzing`) — Accessible status label announced to screen readers.
- `size` (md|sm|lg, default `md`) — Overall frame size: sm, md, or lg.
- `variant` (string, default `default`) — Reserved for future looks; any value currently renders the same default look.

## Use when

- Use while content or system work is in progress so users understand the interface is responding.
- Indicating a background analysis or processing step, such as scanning an uploaded image or document.
- Wanting a bracket-framed sweeping-beam look distinct from a generic spinner.

## Avoid when

- Do not use indefinite loading indicators when you can show structure, progress, or a next step instead.
- Indicating a generic busy state with no analysis metaphor; use spinner or dots-loader instead.
- Loading a full page or section; pair with skeleton for layout-shaped placeholders instead.

## Anti-patterns

- Indefinite loading with no progress or recovery

## Rules

- Use the `<brok:scan-loader>` tag (or `<x-ui.scan-loader>`) in Blade; do not rewrite the component.
- Prefer the documented props and variants over utility-class overrides; when a utility must win, use the `!` important modifier.
- Use semantic design tokens (`bg-primary`, `text-muted-foreground`), never raw colour utilities.
- Keep the `data-slot` attributes; they are the styling and test hooks.

scan-loader scan-loader-frame

Behavior

  • Renders four corner brackets around a frame with a beam that sweeps top to bottom on a continuous loop.
  • Only the default variant currently ships; motion is disabled under prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Declares registry capability flags: a11y, responsive, rtl, darkMode, localized, reducedMotion.

Guidance

Loading feedback

Show that content or system work is in progress.

Use when

  • Use while content or system work is in progress so users understand the interface is responding.
  • Indicating a background analysis or processing step, such as scanning an uploaded image or document.
  • Wanting a bracket-framed sweeping-beam look distinct from a generic spinner.

Avoid when

  • Do not use indefinite loading indicators when you can show structure, progress, or a next step instead.
  • Indicating a generic busy state with no analysis metaphor; use spinner or dots-loader instead.
  • Loading a full page or section; pair with skeleton for layout-shaped placeholders instead.

Use instead

  • Skeleton for known layout
  • Determinate progress for measurable work

Anti-patterns

  • Indefinite loading with no progress or recovery

Accessibility

WCAG 2.2 AA Keyboard focus-visible RTL-ready Localized labels Dark mode
Keyboard
No component-owned keyboard interaction; native element behavior applies.
Focus
none
  • The root carries role="status" and an aria-label built from the label prop so screen readers announce the state once.
  • The corner brackets and sweeping beam are decorative and hidden from assistive tech with aria-hidden.
  • Semantic HTML and a stable data-slot attribute for styling and scripting hooks.
  • Focus-visible rings use the ring token, so keyboard focus is always visible.
  • Disabled and invalid states are conveyed to assistive tech, not by color alone.
  • Targets WCAG 2.2 AA; verify contrast in light, dark, admin and customer surfaces in the preview.
  • Labels go through __() and layout uses logical properties (ms-*, text-start), so it mirrors under dir="rtl" — flip the preview to RTL to confirm.
  • Dark mode uses the same semantic tokens under the dark class; high contrast follows forced-color system tokens.

    Faithful to loading-ui.com. The beam gradient + sweep motion are defined in
