# Brok UI: Mockup (`mockup`)
Wraps a screenshot in an elegant browser/app window frame with traffic-light dots, an optional address bar, and sm/md/lg sizing.
Brok UI is a Laravel Blade component registry. Installed components are plain Blade files the app owns.
## Install
```bash
php artisan ui:add mockup
```
## Usage
```blade
<x-ui.mockup url="app.example.com" class="w-full max-w-md">
<x-ui.aspect-ratio ratio="16 / 10">
<div class="absolute inset-0 bg-gradient-to-br from-primary/10 via-muted to-background"></div>
<div class="absolute inset-0 flex flex-col gap-4 p-6">
<div class="h-7 w-1/3 rounded-md bg-foreground/10"></div>
<div class="space-y-2.5">
<div class="h-3 w-5/6 rounded-full bg-foreground/10"></div>
<div class="h-3 w-2/3 rounded-full bg-foreground/10"></div>
</div>
<div class="mt-auto grid grid-cols-3 gap-3">
<div class="h-14 rounded-lg bg-primary/15"></div>
<div class="h-14 rounded-lg bg-foreground/10"></div>
<div class="h-14 rounded-lg bg-foreground/10"></div>
</div>
</div>
</x-ui.aspect-ratio>
</x-ui.mockup>
```
## Props
- `type` (string, default `browser`) — Chrome style: browser (traffic lights plus address bar), window (traffic lights only), or plain (no title bar).
- `size` (small|large, default `default`) — Corner radius and shadow weight: sm, md (default), or lg; small/large are legacy aliases.
- `url` (string, default `app.example.com`) — Address text shown in the browser address bar.
## Use when
- Use only when visual expression supports storytelling, brand differentiation, or a clear showcase moment.
- Framing a screenshot or live content in a browser, app window, or plain card chrome for a marketing or docs page.
- Choosing browser chrome with a fake address bar, window chrome with just traffic lights, or a plain frame with neither.
## Avoid when
- Do not place heavy effects in task-dense workflows where clarity, speed, and readability matter more.
- A detailed phone or tablet chassis is needed; use iphone-mockup or device instead.
## Anti-patterns
- Heavy effects in forms or task-dense workflows
- Motion that interferes with reading or focus
## Rules
- Use the `<brok:mockup>` tag (or `<x-ui.mockup>`) in Blade; do not rewrite the component.
- Prefer the documented props and variants over utility-class overrides; when a utility must win, use the `!` important modifier.
- Use semantic design tokens (`bg-primary`, `text-muted-foreground`), never raw colour utilities.
- Keep the `data-slot` attributes; they are the styling and test hooks.

|---|---|---|---|
| type | string | browser | Chrome style: browser (traffic lights plus address bar), window (traffic lights only), or plain (no title bar). |

Slots
default—
Data slots
Stable hooks for CSS overrides and browser tests.
Behavior
- type switches between browser (traffic lights plus a centered address bar showing url), window (traffic lights only), and plain (no title bar).
- size scales the corner radius and shadow weight; legacy small/large values are kept as aliases for sm/lg.
- Declares registry capability flags: a11y, responsive, rtl, darkMode, localized.
Guidance
Support brand expression or a showcase moment.

Use instead
- Static content-first presentation
Anti-patterns
- Heavy effects in forms or task-dense workflows
- Motion that interferes with reading or focus
- Anatomy
- Theming hooks
Accessibility
- Keyboard
- No component-owned keyboard interaction; native element behavior applies.
- Focus
none
- The traffic-light dots and address-bar icon are aria-hidden, since they are decorative chrome around the slotted content.
- Semantic HTML and a stable
data-slotattribute for styling and scripting hooks. - Focus-visible rings use the
ringtoken, so keyboard focus is always visible. - Disabled and invalid states are conveyed to assistive tech, not by color alone.
- Targets WCAG 2.2 AA; verify contrast in light, dark, admin and customer surfaces in the preview.
- Labels go through
__()and layout uses logical properties (ms-*,text-start), so it mirrors underdir="rtl"— flip the preview to RTL to confirm. - Dark mode uses the same semantic tokens under the
darkclass; high contrast follows forced-color system tokens.
