Slider
Numeric range controls — a draggable track (single or two-thumb range, with discrete pips and scrubber variants), an angle dial, an exposure ticker, a media scrubber, or a springy elastic slider that stretches past its bounds.
Exposure Slider — An iOS-camera-style exposure (EV) control: a notched horizontal track with a draggable ticker whose nearby notches grow taller and more opaque, paired with a circular SVG ring that displays the signed exposure value. Drag, snap-to-step, and full keyboard support.

This component ships an Alpine behavior module at
resources/js/ui/exposure-slider.js. Import it once from your bundle so it registers on alpine:init:

# Brok UI: Exposure Slider (`exposure-slider`)
An iOS-camera-style exposure (EV) control: a notched horizontal track with a draggable ticker whose nearby notches grow taller and more opaque, paired with a circular SVG ring that displays the signed exposure value. Drag, snap-to-step, and full keyboard support.
Brok UI is a Laravel Blade component registry. Installed components are plain Blade files the app owns.
## Install
```bash
php artisan ui:add exposure-slider
```
## Usage
```blade
<div class="flex min-h-40 w-full items-center justify-center rounded-lg border border-border bg-card p-8">
<x-ui.exposure-slider class="w-full max-w-xs" />
</div>
```
## Props
- `min` (int, default `-2`) — Minimum exposure value.
- `max` (int, default `2`) — Maximum exposure value.
- `step` (float, default `0.1`) — Keyboard/drag snap increment.
- `value` (int, default `0`) — Current exposure value.
- `label` (mixed|null, default `null`) — Accessible label for the ticker; defaults to "Exposure".
## Use when
- Use when continuous adjustment or immediate visual feedback helps users choose a value.
- Building a camera-style exposure/EV control where fine analog adjustment matters more than a wide numeric range.
- Wanting a compact ring readout paired with a notched track instead of a plain filled track.
## Avoid when
- Do not use for precise values or broad ranges without good landmarks; direct entry is better when accuracy matters.
- Needing a generic numeric range with a wide min/max or a live text readout beside the track; use slider or scrubber instead.
## Anti-patterns
- Using sliders for precise or unbounded values
## Rules
- Use the `<brok:exposure-slider>` tag (or `<x-ui.exposure-slider>`) in Blade; do not rewrite the component.
- Prefer the documented props and variants over utility-class overrides; when a utility must win, use the `!` important modifier.
- Use semantic design tokens (`bg-primary`, `text-muted-foreground`), never raw colour utilities.
- Keep the `data-slot` attributes; they are the styling and test hooks.

Props
| Prop | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| min | int | -2 | Minimum exposure value. |
| max | int | 2 | Maximum exposure value. |
| step | float | 0.1 | Keyboard/drag snap increment. |
| value | int | 0 | Current exposure value. |
| label | mixed | null | null | Accessible label for the ticker; defaults to "Exposure". |
Slots
default— Not used by this component; present for attribute-bag compatibility.
Data slots
Stable hooks for CSS overrides and browser tests.
Behavior
- Dragging the ticker along the notched track, or using arrow keys, sets the value snapped to step; notches near the ticker grow taller and more opaque, and the circular ring fills proportionally to |value| with the signed value centred inside.
- Installs a JavaScript behavior module when the registry item includes resources/js/ui files.
- Declares registry capability flags: a11y, interactive, responsive, rtl, darkMode, localized.
Guidance
Adjust an intuitive continuous value.

Accessibility

- Focus
managed
- The ticker is a role="slider" with aria-valuemin/max/now and an aria-valuetext carrying the signed value.
- Reduced motion skips the notch proximity animation while the control stays fully functional.
- Semantic HTML and a stable
data-slotattribute for styling and scripting hooks. - Focus-visible rings use the
ringtoken, so keyboard focus is always visible. - Disabled and invalid states are conveyed to assistive tech, not by color alone.
- Targets WCAG 2.2 AA; verify contrast in light, dark, admin and customer surfaces in the preview.
- Labels go through
__()and layout uses logical properties (ms-*,text-start), so it mirrors underdir="rtl"— flip the preview to RTL to confirm. - Dark mode uses the same semantic tokens under the
darkclass; high contrast follows forced-color system tokens.

/**
* Exposure Slider behavior — an iOS-camera-style exposure (EV) control.
*
* Holds one numeric `value`, clamped to [min, max] and snapped to `step`. The track
* renders a fixed strip of vertical notches; each notch's height and opacity scale with
* its proximity to the ticker (closer = taller + more opaque), computed in the
* `notchStyle(i)` getter and applied as an inline `height`/`opacity` plus a token
* background class on the Blade side. A circular SVG ring shows |value|/max as a
* stroke-dasharray arc with the signed value text centred inside.
*
* Positioning uses the logical `inset-inline-start`, and pointer/keyboard math accounts
* for `direction`, so the control mirrors and feels correct under `dir="rtl"`.
*
* Pointer listeners are added to `document` only for the duration of a drag and are
* always removed on pointerup AND in `destroy()`, so unmounting mid-drag can't leak.
*
* Self-registers on `alpine:init` so import order does not matter — import this file
* once from your bundle (e.g. resources/js/ui/index.js).
